This year’s Simply Stylist Chicago 2016 Fashion and Beauty Conference is shaping up to be an incredible event! First we teased with our Simply Digital Network babe and multi-tasking queen Cara Santana, and now we are thrilled to announce yet another panelist: Style Expert Eric Himel! unnamed

Eric Himel has an impressive roster of celebrity clients, including Giuliana and Bill Rancic, Jenny McCarthy, Kristin Cavallari, Tia Mowry, Pete Wentz, David Eigenberg, and Gabby Douglas. Unlike most television fashion stylists, Eric has been formally educated in fashion design, which makes him Hollywood’s go-to style guy. He started his career in the fashion industry at the highly competitive Fashion Design Program at the prestigious Parson’s School of Design in New York City. Not only did Eric train under Project Runway’s style icon Tim Gunn during his time there, but he has since established as one of the most respected fashion stylists for every day men and women, as well as the rich and famous!

SS: Tell us the story behind your favorite wardrobe item.  A vintage shearling double-breasted coat that my father had in the 70s. It's made so well, keeps me warm and it's super stylish and of course it reminds me of growing up in Canada!

SS: What's your most memorable ‘panic moment’ and how did you recover from it gracefully?  I remember I I had a shoot I had to style for Us Weekly of a celebrity chef and I got my days mixed up. I was awaken by a call from the photographer wondering if I was running late. I hadn't even pulled the clothes yet for the shoot. And the celebrity chef lived an hour away. I got up, brushed my teeth stopped at a store, pulled clothes in about 20 minutes, and made it to the shoot which of course turned out flawlessly!

SS: What is your favorite era for fashion?   I would say the 50s or the 70s. I love the fashions in Albert Hitchcock movies of all of his blond hair heroines and I love 70s fashions but not the extreme stuff or UBER trendy or did to pieces.

SS: What was your big break?  Probably styling and becoming friends with Giuliana Rancic and appearing on the Giuliana and Bill Show. She is so gracious and down to earth and it really opened a lot of doors for me.

SS: Whose closet would you most like to raid?  Anna Wintour's and Elizabeth Taylor's.

SS: Who are your favorite designers? That's hard to say, that's like picking your favorite child! I love everything from The Row to Chanel to Rick Owens to Topshop!
