SS: How did the inspiration for your website, The Skinny Confidential, come about? The idea for The Skinny Confidential happened when I was attending San Diego State University. I was incredibly frustrated by the lack of healthy food options on campus…and I was BORED. Real bored. At the time I was going to school full-time, working days & nights, and teaching for Pilates and Pure Barre. Also, I was on a major budget. So I had to get resourceful.

With that there was a need to want to share this with women *lightbulb moment* was thinking a blog was the perfect platform.

I was like: "There’s 20,000 women on campus, they need these tricks too! And shit, I want their tips.”

SS: How has your site evolved over the years? Since then, The Skinny Confidential has evolved from a fitness and health blog to a community for women all over the world to come & SPILL their tips & tricks. It’s a source of inspiration for women. The Skinny Confidential is also a book, podcast, secret Facebook group, and soon-to-be product line.

SS: The Skinny Confidential is about health, fashion, beauty, and beyond, but one thing that really sets your site apart is that you aren’t afraid to get “real” and talk about things that some people might not always bring up. Why is it so important for you to discuss these topics? These topics are important to discuss because they happen in real life. Pretending shit doesn't happen doesn't stop it from happening. We we talk about it openly we can all support and learn from each other. This community of women want to go there and embrace all facets of life.

I keep it real.

SS: You’ll be on our “Staying On Trend With Makeup” panel at our #SimplyLA Conference this July. What makeup trends are you totally loving currently? Lately I've been loving a really sleek high pony. It's sharp, sexy and very underrated. They're chic for a fancy night out and dress up a casual jeans & t-shirt moment. I pair that with big fake lashes, a dewy CC cream, and some lip liner and I'm golden.

SS: You’ve tried some crazy health and beauty treatments, from cryotherapy to cupping to personalized IV drips. What’s the craziest—but most worth it—treatment you’ve experienced? OH that's a tough one. There's SO many incredible treatments I've experienced.. I'm pretty much a human guinea pig. Cupping is DEFINITELY my favorite. It relieves so much tension and stress from your body. Kind of like reverse massage pulling toxins out. You can't go wrong with cupping- plus the bruises are a real conversation starter- HA!
