Tell us the story behind your favorite wardrobe item
Clare: It has always been my life long dream to own a Chanel bag! I have always longed for the quilted black 2.55 with gold hardware. When it comes to clothing for myself I believe in longevity and investment so it made sense that at the age of 30, it was time for me to become a Chanel bag owner! I wear it with everything and it was well worth the investment, I'll even pass it along to my daughter!
What's your most memorable 'panic moment'?
Clare: Most memorable panic moment was when I was hired to style two TOMS' ad campaigns in two consecutive shoot days with one day to prep. Panic is an understatement!
How did you recover from it gracefully?
Clare: I shopped till I dropped and frantically pulled from showrooms, heck i even pulled from my own closet!
What is your favorite era for fashion?
Clare: My favorite era is no doubt the lates 60's, think Jean Luc Godard movies, Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. Pea coats, minis, cropped pants, flats and striped tees. J'adore!
What was your big break?
Clare: My ‘big break’ occurred when assisting a costume designer on the independent movie ‘I’m Reed Fish’ (Alexis Bledel, Jay Baruchel). The designer left the project one week into filming and I was asked to take her place. It was at this pivotal moment that my career as a stylist truly began.
Whose closet would you most like to raid?
Clare: I would love to raid Alexa Chung's closet, her style is so eclectic and she is such a fashion darling, anyone who is anyone is desperate to dress her from Chanel to Mulberry. Any 'IT' item or trend she interprets in her own unique way.
Who are your favorite designers?
Chloe, Stella MaCartney, A.P.C., Isabel Marant, Chanel, and Mulberry.
