4 DIY Gifts for the Holidays

Trying to figure out that perfect gift for your friend, co-worker and/or family member? Maybe even your mailman or neighbor but don't want to spend a fortune? It's time to put your creativity to use, and YES we promise you do have that bone in you somewhere. We are giving you 4 DIY gifts that are perfect for this holiday season and will put a smile on anyones face! They are easy, fun and delicious. Plus you know what they say… handmade gifts are the best kind, so give it a try!

1. SUGAR COOKIE SCRUB

Ingredients

1/2 cup Sugar

1/2 cup Brown Sugar

1/4 cup Coconut Oil

1/2 tsp Vanilla

1/2 tsp Almond Oil

Directions

Pour sugar into small bowl

Pour brown sugar into another small bowl

Add half of the coconut oil, almond and vanilla to each bowl

Mix in rest of coconut oil (add more if you like a wet consistency)

Add your sugars to the jar in layers. Press your Sugar down with a spoon or use a can to compact

Alternate layers

Add a Label to the front and a ribbon to gift!

 

2. HOT COCOA GIFT

Supplies

Mug (mine was from IKEA)

Sharpie, fine tip

Hot chocolate mix

Mini marshmallows

Plastic favor bag

Twine

Optional: paper straws or wooden spoon

Free-hand a cute quote onto the mug with your sharpie. Let it dry overnight. Then place it in oven and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Turn off the oven and let it cool completely before removing.

After it’s ready, put the plastic party favor bag in the mug and open it up. Fill it up to the brim with hot chocolate mix, then top with mini marshmallows. Close it up with some twine or ribbon and add in those striped straws we all know you love!

 

3. HANDMADE LAVENDER SOAP

Supplies

Goat’s milk soap base

Lavender essential oil

Dry lavender

Soap colorant (optional)

Soap molds

*To make three lavender soap bars you will need about 13 goat’s milk soap cubes

1. Cut Goat Milk's Soap into cubes and place in a double boiler or microwave in 30 second intervals

2. Melt soap over low-medium heat

3. Once soap cubes turn liquid add a few drops of lavender extract, colorant (optional) and lavender; stir well. The lavender will naturally float to the top

4. Pour into soap molds and allow to harden for at least one hour. Press mold to release soap

 

 

4. ROSEMARY INFUSED OLIVE OIL
